Trying Czech beer? Seeing Charles Bridge? Tasting beef tenderloin? What should most newly arrived foreigners from non-EU countries do after arriving in the Czech Republic? First of all, sign up for the adaptation-integration course "Welcome to the Czech Republic". Influencer Andrea, originally from Venezuela, talks about this in the new promo video. Slovo 21 came up with adaptation-integration courses 11 years ago. Since January 2021, the course has been mandatory for selected groups of foreigners.
Andrea, how did you get to shoot the promo video for the adaptation-integration courses?
I think it was mainly because of my TikTok profile. I often add posts about Czech culture there. So when Slovo 21 offered my this opportunity, I was thrilled.
As an influencer, you have experience shooting videos. Still - this is a different discipline after all, isn't it?
To be honest, I don't have much experience with this type of filming. But when I was younger, I did theater. In addition, I studied film and television, so I'm a bit familiar with this environment.
By the way - what do you think of adaptation-integration courses? Do you feel they make sense?
They absolutely do. I really like this concept and I think more countries should implement it. In my opinion, this is a great way to involve foreigners in Czech society.
By the way, what brought you to the Czech Republic?
My husband is Czech. We met in Spain and got married in Miami. And when our American visa ran out, we decided to move to Prague...
What do you like best about the Czech Republic?
Will you laugh when I say beer? But it is true. Ever since I moved here, I've become a beer enthusiast. But I also have to say that I really like the social life of this country. Trips to cottages, bar and restaurant culture, amazing Christmas markets... This is something I really appreciate.
And what are you most involved in at the moment?
To my family! I am a mom of two princesses Alicia and Chichi and they are my world.
